Packages & Fees – Effective 2019/2020

ALL PACKAGES INCLUDE:

• the ceremony
• the registration of your marriage with the government of Alberta
• a statement of marriage
• a commemorative booklet of your wedding ceremony
• GST
• And the additional services and items listed on each package.

Regardless of the location of your ceremony, I am committed to arriving at least 15 – 30 minutes prior to the scheduled time of your wedding to assist in attending to any last minute on site details.

1. Standard Traditional Ceremony: $350.00 ($460.00 with rehearsal)

This package is for a larger more traditional wedding ceremony with more than 4 formal participants in the ceremony, and an unlimited number of guests at the wedding venue of your choice. It includes a one-hour consultation meeting at my home office to plan the details of your ceremony
An on-location wedding rehearsal with all of the wedding party prior to the date of your wedding is also available for the additional fee as listed above. This package also includes travel time and mileage within the greater Calgary area.
This package is required for all ceremonies taking place in hotels, restaurants, golf courses, etc.  On occasion, I do agree to travel for a ceremony outside of the greater Calgary area for an additional fee.

2. Private Elopement Ceremony OR Marriage Registration: $220.00

This option is for those who simply want their relationship legalized via civil marriage in the province of Alberta, and wish to have a private yet meaningful ceremony provided, with only their two witnesses present.

This simple legal ceremony begins with a meeting in the living room of my townhouse, and moves into the ceremony that meets the legal requirements for marriage in Alberta.
There is no meeting or interview with the couple before the ceremony.

I provide every couple with a very meaningful standard ceremony.

This option is restricted to a total of 5 participants: the wedding couple, myself and the two witnesses (18 years of age or older). This service is available at my location ONLY, and I simply do NOT have the space for additional guests.

I can also make provisions to supply your witnesses for the additional fee of $40.00 per witness.

If you are having a destination wedding, or a commitment ceremony, I can also provide you with a minimal ceremony that simply meets
the provincial requirements so that your commitment ceremony or destination wedding is kept special.  The choice is yours.

3. House Wedding: $300.00

This package is identical to the private elopement ceremony but is at the private location* of your choice: It is perfect for the couple wanting a small intimate home gathering or backyard barbecue. There are NO RESTRICTIONS regarding the number of guests you wish to have. This package also includes travel time and mileage within the greater Calgary area, and, as with the Private Elopement ceremony there is no meeting or interview with the couple prior to the Wedding.

• This package is NOT available for ceremonies held in hotels, restaurants, community centres, golf courses or halls.

4. Marriage Registration: $220.00

Perhaps you have already had a commitment celebration, or you are planning on a wedding celebration at a holiday destination where the legal requirements are daunting (or even prohibitive for same-sex couples).
Perhaps you wish to have a Symbolic Wedding or Commitment Ceremony with a family member of friend Officiating but they do not have credentials to legalize your marriage.

This package is identical to the Elopement Ceremony, but I will legalize your marriage with a very short but meaningful ceremony (about 3 minutes) that meets the provincial requirements while acknowledging your symbolic ceremony.

PLEASE NOTE: A marriage registration does NOT need to include the exchange of rings, and dress can be very casual.
ATTENDANCE IS LIMITED TO THE COUPLE AND THEIR TWO WITNESSES.  PLEASE NOTE  THAT I ALSO TRAVEL TO OTHER LOCATIONS WITHIN THE CITY OF CALGARY for the Home Wedding fee of $300.00

Registering Your Marriage:  Following your ceremony I will submit your information to the Government of Alberta to have your marriage officially registered.  It usually takes about TWO TO THREE WEEKS for your marriage to be entered into the data base, and so you will need to wait this period before you can obtain a Provincial Marriage Certificate.  This must be applied for at and registry office for an additional fee.  I also offer a “fast registration service” (24 to 48 hours, depending on the day and time of your ceremony) for an additional $60.00
